Plain-English summary for young players (13–17)

  • You must be 13 or older to create an account. Under-13 accounts are closed and deleted when identified.
  • Players aged 13–17 can play this pilot free. Real-money Dark Matter purchases are disabled for under-18s.
  • Other players can see your chosen handle, alliance tag, planets and coordinates, rank and battle reports. They cannot see your email, password, date of birth or IP address.
  • Choose a handle and avatar that do not reveal your real name, school, phone number, address or other private information. Player avatars are optional and visible on public player cards.
  • There are no third-party ads, behavioural profiles or sale of player data.
  • You or your parent/guardian can ask us to fix or delete information through Support or admin@xten.au.

1. Information we collect

  • Account data: handle, email, password hash, universe, language, optional avatar, registration source and date-of-birth declaration.
  • Gameplay and integrity data: colonies, buildings, fleets, research, battle and alliance logs, Dark Matter balance and sink history, IP address, login times, user-agent, rate-limit and anti-cheat records.
  • Purchase data: Australian billing confirmation, order and invoice references, pack amounts, GST, payment and refund status. XTen does not collect card numbers or government ID; card payments are processed by the payment provider.
  • Support data: messages submitted through in-game Support or email, plus waitlist data only when separately opted into.

2. How we use information

We use information to operate the universe, provide support, prevent cheating and abuse, enforce the 13+ play and 18+ Australian purchase rules, issue tax invoices, process refunds and disputes, measure aggregate pilot results and comply with Australian law. We do not use player email for unrelated B2B marketing, sell personal information, or use it for biometric inference or AI training.

Avatars are optional. Uploads accept JPG, PNG or WebP images up to 2 MB and 2048px; XWar Legacy resizes them to a maximum of 512px and re-encodes them to remove EXIF/location metadata before storage. Avatars are displayed on public player cards.

3. Service providers and overseas processing

The game and XTen operational systems are hosted in Australia. Traffic may pass through Cloudflare's global edge and security systems. Card payments are handled by the payment provider's Australian and global payment and fraud systems. Transactional email may route metadata through Australian or United States systems. These providers are bound by their security and confidentiality commitments.

4. Retention and deletion

  • Active accounts are retained while the universe and account remain active.
  • If the pilot closes permanently, account personal information is deleted or irreversibly de-identified within 60 days after closure and completion of Dark Matter refunds.
  • Dormant accounts may be deleted or de-identified after 12 months of inactivity following notice.
  • Security logs are retained for up to 90 days unless needed for an active investigation.
  • Support tickets are retained for 24 months after resolution, then archived or de-identified.
  • Tax invoices, orders and refund records are retained for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Waitlist records are retained until invitations conclude or you unsubscribe.

5. Access, correction, deletion and complaints

Request access, correction or deletion through in-game Support or admin@xten.au with the subject “XWar Privacy Complaint”. We aim to acknowledge privacy complaints within 5 business days and provide a written decision within 30 days. If you remain dissatisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
